We offer care to infants, toddlers, Junior Pre-Kindergarten, Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten and before and after school care for children attending elementary school.
Infant Program [details +/-]
At Cheers we know that the development of a young child's brain is a "work in progress," and that the most significant development takes place from your child's birth, to age three.
In our infant room you will see happy, smiling "floor babies." This allows children to scoot, crawl, roll and explore. Each infant is given individual attention corresponding to his/her unique development. We cuddle our babies, soothe them when they are fussy, and read to them daily. Our team of teachers communicate regularly with our parents to meet each infant's individual needs and development.
Pre-School Program [details +/-]
The Cheers preschool curriculum and voluntary pre-kindergarten program are both enriched with a variety of subjects and educational environments. Every classroom is designed with learning centers for reading, writing, math, science, dramatic play, blocks and art - where the children explore and learn independently. Our curriculum is developmentally appropriated and uses teaching decisions that vary and adapt to the age, experience, interests and abilities of each individual child.
At Cheers we recognize that children learn best by "doing." Our loving staff provides unique settings designed to encourage learning with positive interactions between teachers and children. Children experience an organized environment and feel secure as they go
about their daily routine. The program also provides a balance of physical movement and rest during our busy day.
Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program [details +/-]
Cheers is certified by the state of Florida as a licensed VPK provider. We offer VPK classes from 9am - 12pm, mirroring the Lee County school calendar. Classes are extended an additional 30 minutes before for breakfast and 30 minutes after for lunch, where we serve nutritional food in a family style setting. Our VPK only program, running from 8:30 – 12:30, is FREE! We also offer an "extended day" program that expands upon a host of learning experiences for an additional fee. Our VPK classes have a student to teacher ratio of 9:1, and are taught by professionals with college degrees and/or a Child Development Associates degree.
In order to enroll in this program you will need your child's birth certificate and proof of Florida residence (a local utility bill, for example). U.S. Citizenship is not required.
Before and After School Program [details +/-]
Years ago our elementary-aged children nicknamed themselves the "Cheers Cool Kids." The name has flourished through long-time friendships and has been handed down throughout the years. Our program provides before and after school care with transportation provided by the Lee County School District or our own bus fleet.
Cheers Cool Kids arrive in the afternoon either full of energy or sometimes tired, but almost always hungry. We provide a nutritional snack in a family style environment. We've developed our after school program to be full of fun games, projects and yes... home work. Full day activities and exciting field trips are offered during non-school weekdays and holiday breaks. To quote our Cheers Cool Kids, "We're Great!"
